La paura non esiste !
E’ una invenzione della nosta mente che ci fa vedere o immaginare cose del futuro che probabilmente mai avverranno.
La paura è forse il più grande inganno che la mente umana riesce a perpetrare ai nostri danni.
Certo è che la paura è un sentimento umano inalienabile, ma va capita e domata negli investimenti, ne più ne meno, come l’opposta avidità.
In ambito finaziario i mercati sono mossi perlopiù da questi due sentimenti piuttosto che dalla razionalità, come mente logica vorrebbe.
Per fortuna la storia è sempre lì a darci una mano e giacchè essa è solita ripetersi, con qualche differente sfumatura, è palese notare come ogni qualvolta c’è un ribasso di borsa o peggio nei mercati obbligazionari, la paura nella mente degli investitori fa scattare il più masochistico dei meccanismi irrazionali : vendere nei momenti meno opportuni !
Se guardiamo il grafico ventennale di un noto fondo che investe in Obbligazioni Globali anche in valuta diversa dall’euro o dollaro, notiamo un impressionate +500% dal 1991 ad oggi, senza considerare le cedole mensili incassate nel durante della vita del fondo.
Come si vede benissimo nel breve, questo fondo ha perso il 10 % circa dai suoi massimi.
Volendo comprendere meglio il perchè di tale ribasso, che ha coinvolto l’asset class più amata dai risparmiatori e cioè i fondi obbligazionari, che distribuiscono una cedola, possiamo fare riferimento al grafico sottostante che rappresenta le valute emergenti contro dollaro.
Da magggio 2015 questo fondo ha assunto diverse posizioni in obbligazioni dei paesi emergenti che hanno cedole dell’ordine del 5-6% e anche più, a fronte di un quasi 0 che erogano gli stati dei paesi occidentali.
Molto bene, ora il fondo riesce a dare una cedola maggiore, ma la valuta locale di quei paesi si è repentinamente svalutata facendo registrare al fondo questa performance negativa di breve periodo.
Ma la storia insegna !
I casi in cui ciò è già successo sono molteplici e in “tutti i casi” il fondo ha superato le difficoltà temporanee continuando poi la sua crescita indisturbato.
Esaminando i 2 casi più recenti, 2011 con la crisi dell’Euro e 2008-2009 con il fallimento di quasi tutta la finanza mondiale, notiamo l’impressionante similitudine nella performance negativa.
Certo è che un investitore, magari entrato la picco positivo, si sarebbe visto depauperare il portafoglio di -10%.
A questo punto poteva attuare 3 scelte possibili :
Vendere (dando retta alla “PAURA”)
Non fare nulla e spettare (scelta prudente)
Ricomprare (scelta dinamica)
Inutile ribadire, al di là di calcoli matematici che l’unica scelta da NON fare sarebbe stata quella di NON vendere.
Ogni momento storico ha poi le sue opportunità.
In questo momento l’occasione è rappresentata da 2 fattori :
Valute emergenti ai minimi storici (come da grafico seguente)
Maggiore cedola erogata
Conclusioni :
Per me tali movimenti sono come film già visti e rivisti, ma per molti potrebbe non essere così.
Per chi ha investimenti obbligazionari in essere si può lasciare tutto così com’è lasciando lavorare il tempo.
Per chi è fuori dal mercato e vuole entrare ora, è ovvio che tale Asset class rappresenta una valida opportunità.
L’unica scelta penalizzante è assecondare la inesistente paura.
